WhiteHouse All-Star Ambassador

This past year has been one for the books! I was able to finish my senior season playing women’s basketball in the Red River Conference. I  was selected out 1 of 53 applicants out of a pool of 500 to be selected as a White House ALL-STAR Ambassador  for the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Also, I had the privilege of creating Fellowship of Christian Athletes at my school. I was on CBS19 for my efforts in the community and I  performed my poetry at the Black History Moth Celebration for Texas College. ,I created Fellowship of Christian Athletes for my college and I was able to share God’s love with everyone. It was a blessing!

But the biggest blessing of all was crossing the stage with a degree in social work. Many people prayed on my downfall, because the bigger the blessings , the bigger your battle becomes. But God brought me through some trying times, especially battling with anxiety and depression, I know it was all God. After I graduated I was selected to represent my college and the Red River Conference on a Women’s basketball tour in Italy. I’ve had the privilege of playing  teams in Rome, Florence,  Venice and Milan,Italy. It was  one of the most breath-taking places I’ve ever been to and I’m so grateful for the experience.

I’ve spent the rest of my summer empowering others to reach their full potential. I’ve always wanted to be a public speaker and motivational guru. The funny thing is…I have a lisp which is a speech impediment. But, I’m happy to tell you that I’ve started my public speaking journey and I’ve spoken at 4 different empowerment events. Its crazy how God turns your insecurities into strengths.I believe that God wants to take the limits off of us and embrace the gifts and passions He has given all of us. You have gifts  that you haven’t even tapped into yet. Gifts that are burning down on the inside of you waiting for the world to see and hear.

You are the only thing standing in your way. I pray that you don’t let fear of the unknown paralyze you. I pray that you be BOLD in life. I pray that you have faith in your gifts and talents which creates vision in your life. Don’t ignore the signs , or the tug in your heart when it tells you to go. I pray you have faith to  learn how to walk on your own water  and let nothing and no one hold you back.

Remember , you have endless potential.
